Received new insurance extimate - $650.00 cheaper.

We have had National Interstate for a decade and always had good service.

Our "broker" has sent us an estimate (they have all our info) from Allied, which is much less expensive. Also, Allied will give us cash ($390K) if our coach is totaled or stolen etc.,. National Interstate will furnish a "new" 2012 Tour under the same circumstances. Everything else is equal.

Has anybody had or dealt with Allied? What was your experience?

Thanks, Kerry

Never heard of them. Remember that old saying "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is". It would be great to save that kind of money, but
I would check them out thoroughly. Good luck!

There is a web site that rates every insurance company in the USA. I used it when we switched Home Ins.

I just looked at some consumer reviews on Allied and my conclusion is that I don't want to have anything to do with them.

Allied is owed by Nationwide.

Unless Allied has reviews of service equal to Nat'l Interstate, I would say that $54/month is not enough of a discount.

Ask for a copy of the policy to review! If you are still in doubt see an attorney and have it reviewed. The DEVIL is in the fine print. Like the Bible.....The large print giveth and the small print taketh away! safe travels ed

Allied IS less cost but offers inferior service, rude claims people and has lost a large law suit (settled our of court or it would have broke them) and does not cover damage for rodent damage to wires. If you have an Rv I would say you need protected for rodent damage. I also want to be clear DIRT was treated better than me on my claim. A veteran claim person called me a liar and was unwilling to explain policy and my extra riders. I am currently reviewing options after a denied claim for a wiring issue and after effect fire and damaged door. God save me but they absolutely have been the rudest, most disrespectful company I have ever had the misfortune to pay to be treated like pond scum. See my other posts. Camping World and the arrangement are also questionable. You buy RV and do not get to review policy but pay for policy. Steer clear.

I was also going to say I just read a thread about a difficult and un-cooperative customer service person (or people) in Allied. I would be hesitant to go with them. Obviously we hope we never need to use our insurance, but if we do, we need responsive adjusters and customer service people, not rude people to deal with.

X-3 you really need to read JEFFOH post. There are many related post on the forum from many members that discuss RV insurance. Just check out the search mode top of forum page. Lots of valuable information. Best of luck.

A more positive response is to tell me your insuarnce and how they excude it. I am TRYING to learn the industry. I welcome responses. The place that had my RV had another company pay for wiring damage from rodent and it cost 4500 so yes I have insurance to protect my investment. My damage on wiring has not been determined by anyone. The damage happened between wires not by a component. I have not touched it yet as we have had an extremly bad winter in NE OHIO My building can hold RV but I could not get larger door installed based on weather and unit not starting.
