refused admittance at campgound
I stopped at the Thousand Trails Encore RV park at Monroe, WA yesterday in my car and asked if I could drive thru and look at sites since my coach is 45 feet and much of this park is on a hill side. I am not a member and was firmly told that I could not enter. That was an opportunity for someone to give me a sales pitch, instead I was shown the door and I will not return.

I have to ask if when you stopped at the resort were you interested in becoming a member(lot owner)? Or did you just want to ride through and check it out?

What difference would that make unless the attendant was a mind reader?

The difference is that the attendant must of been a mind reader and that is how this thread started
Many resorts/campgrounds are starting to not allow you to tour through their property in your auto out of respect of people enjoying their time off with not a lot of traffic when camping out. Been taken in their golf cart to see and explore the layout of their property.

Look at the positive side (maybe). Maybe they want to escort people so they know who is on the property? Maybe they have had problems with theft or vandalism? How does an attendant know if you are a good guy or a bad guy? Just looking for other reasonable explanations other than snobbery.

I'm not really interested in a RV resort "time share" type memberships, but got to admit that their response was somewhat off key. On two occasions here in Vegas DW and I stopped by the one on Boulder Hwy and simply stated that we wanted to look through to see what they offered. On both occasions we were told it was ok, given a visitors pass and told to stop by the office on our way out if we had questions.

I'll bet know what hill side park you were at.
They have 10 sites set aside for non-member guests, can't get my RV into any of them, "sorry then leave" was thier comment.

Where I work we don't allow people to just walk through either. Security issue here and probably there too.
I sure wouldn't blame the attendant for it.

Yup, that must be it. They were taking precautions on the off chance that someone in a 45 ft. coach, towing, would want to go postal and start robbing people. Then, make a super fast get-a-way, Bonnie and Clyde style.
I'll take my business elsewhere.
