Registering RV in PA

I have just bought a Motorhome from a dealer in Ohio and drove it home to PA with temporary plates given to me by the dealer. What do I do now to have it registered in PA? I presume it needs to be inspected too: can I have it inspected before the registration (it has less than 1,000 miles on it so inspection should be a formality).

Congratulations on your new motorhome. First you need to have it transferred to Pa. then you can have it inspected in which you have five days to do so. Any notary who has plates for a motorhome can do so. You need insurance before you go to the notary for transfer just like any vehicle. I believe the plates for a motorhome are 75 dollars in Pa. Enjoy your new home on wheels and safe travels.

Since it seems that the Ohio dealer did not give you any instructions, I would think that the paperwork you now have is a temporary registration with the tag and that the dealer has sent the paperwork to PA. You could go to a local tag agency or better yet a PennDOT license center with your paperwork and check. As for state inspection, your temporary registration is all that you will need but check with your shop first because some are afraid to do it because they may never had before.

Congrad's!
Go to a notary......,give them your paper work, pay the tax's owed, they will give you a new license plate for your new rig, then with the pink temp. slip in hand.....go get it inspected. In 2-4 weeks, your new registration will come from the state. You have 30 days to get it inspected.
