RegistryRV? A scam?

I posted our 2004 Allegro Bus yesterday for sale as my husband has just passed away. I think these RV Registry people that just contacted me are a scam but wanted to know if anyone had anymore info as my husband was the one who took care of these issues.
Whomever buys this bus will have an excellent deal as we just did about everything possible to upgrade it for our anticipated long journey...so sad that he will not be able to live his dream....

Not necessarily a scam, but they and many more companies will charge you to list your RV for varying amounts of money. I don't believe they are any better than the free listing sites.

First, you have my deepest sympathy Alexandra on the loss of your husband.

You just have to be cautious with companies & people who contact you wanting to list your RV. They can be legitimate but also just out to rip you off. Many members here have sold their RV's via the internet & will give you great advice on what to watch out for, so you don't get taken advantage of at this stressful time. Best of luck.

My condolences,

in my experience these unsolicited offers are completely bogus. They will state they have qualified customers already lined up. Don't do it, they offer a guarantee, but you will never get your money back.

List your RV on Craigs list or Kijiji, you will sell it quickly. If you don't know the approximate value check with a dealer for the blue book price, add a bit for dickering room and away you go.

I hope it works out for you, and again so sorry.

So sorry to hear of your loss. We just sold out Travel Supreme and of ALL the online sites, RVTrade produced more quality responses that all of the other sites put together. I listed on about six sites and the rest were a waste of money. Just my recent experience. Do post lots of pictures, that is the key to a good ad.

Sorry for your loss. Please take care and be very suspicious of any and all of these solicitations. Do you have a reliable local dealer that you trust, perhaps they'll take it on a consignment sale. There is PPL RV over in Houston, they are a really strong sales presence online. They seem to be upfront about what they charge for commission and such.

Perhaps you might utilize a Consignment company locally that will clean and detail the coach and market it for you. We recently used that service after a death in the family to sell an expensive coach.

My experience with any of the firms that solicit you, like RV Registry, have been disappointing. They work hard up until the time you pay them. Then they are passive and I got very little in return for my money. I would suggest Craigs List, eBay (with reserve or buy it now).
