Release pressure to manually move slide?

I need to bring my slide in manually on my 2008 Nuwa Hitchhiker LS II. Not knowing to much about Hydraulics, once I loosen the knurled nobs on the valve to release pressure from turning the set screw, then manually moving the slide and re tighten. Will this cause issues or air in the lines?
Backstory: My 5th wheel is in winter storage and one slide is creeping out from bottom. Nuwa told me today I could just move it in manually then brace with a slide lock until spring. The service tech said it released because once I switched the batteries off and removed them it released the electro magnets and allowed creep. Very common on these I guess. I just forgot to ask him about inducing air possibly.

Thanks so much,
Rich

I don't know about your specific system. However, releasing the valve manually by turning the screw/knob simply allows fluid to move from one side of the valve to the other and should not allow any air into the system. Assuming you have the appropriate amount of fluid in the reservoir.

Your hydraulic slide is creeping because the fluid is leaking past hydraulic piston seals or the solenoid valve

Opening solenoid via 'kurl knob' allows fluid to move back to reservoir while you manually move slide.

Does NOT open system to atmosphere.....just a manual method of releasing hydraulic pressure within the closed system
