We love our oven, use it all the time, tried the convection oven and could not get it to work. We boondock a lot and could not get by without the oven.

When got the coach, tried the convection/microwave for a week.. NOPE ... didn't cut it with my biscuits,pies/cakes/roasts or casseroles ...
replaced the 2 burner Gagganeau with a 3 burner/gas oven combo..
And the Micro/convection is in an overhead mount above the cooktop..
I did not want my height challenged DW (4'7) on a step stool trying to lift a heavy & hot casserole dish out of the convection....
As for a dishwasher the DW says I'm it.

THumbs Up for Oven

We like our oven too, and wouldn't buy a coach without one. But we use ours. If you don't use yours, and have a more useful purpose for the space, you should go for it.

LOL! Every time the oven topic comes up, we get lovers and haters. I'll grant there are some pretty crappy convection ovens, but the GE Advantium models work quite well. We've had two, one vented outside and one inside. The inside vent type does heat up the coach more than a gas oven.

Example of why the oven stays!
I will say the oven is tricky to use, we usually set the temp for 25 deg above normal settings and use a stone plate under the pan to keep the temp even for baking.

If you are always hooked up to electrical, you can play it any way you want!

If you're like me and dry camp in the boonies 95%+ of the time, that propane oven sure keeps from having to run the generator just to accomplish small jobs (or big ones for that matter).

I have an older convection/MW, but try to use it only when the generator will be running anyway, like when the toaster and coffee pot are needing to be run at the same time. My inverter won't pull that load, so time to fire up the gennie. Plus, I enjoy grilling steaks a lot in the evenings and gotta have a baked potato with my meal. I love the crispy skin on a baked spud that the propane oven provides.

As others have pointed out, the oven is great storage for larger pots/pans when not in use!

Just DO NOT use the open oven door to stack the pots and pans or a heavy casserole dish on.. The oven door hinges on the newer ovens will bend and then the oven door won't close correctly..
(don't ask how i discovered that..)

All convection microwave ovens in RV's are electric heat with a fan to move hot air around(the convection part). Ours is a 1999 model and works great, although the added heat to the MH during summer in the SW can be objectionable.
I would hesitate to dump the DW though.

We had ours removed at NuWa and had a 3 burner gas top put it. They still had the doors to match our cabinets and original hardware so made shelves for pots and pan storage. DW uses the convection oven in the micro when she needs one.

How's that dishwasher working out? I've been thinking of installing one.
