Both Zep and RMP have removers that work well, reasons for removal that I saw posted before I did our coach were all for peeling which can be directly attributed to prep' work.
I thought long and hard before going to all that work and am sooooo glad I did the job. This process has been used on coaches/trailers for quite some time and the reports of problems are very few and far between when compared to success stories. As with any process requiring preparation of a surface for something to adhere to it, the quality of the prep work is key.
