Recently, I asked about Poli Glo vs. DEP clear coats, and got many helpful responses.

Some of those addressed the problems of getting these items OFF !

My current question is...

Why did you WANT to take them off ?
Yearly maintenance is not too bad, so there must have been OTHER reasons... and perhaps I should know THOSE before proceeding.

I haven't done the floor wax thing yet but I'm guessing at least 3 reasons:

1) Finish has yellowed over time or 2) needs body work or 3) an area needs to be caulked or sealed.

Getting the stuff off is a major consideration one should consider before putting ANYTHING on the surface of an RV. Over the years I have seen so many 'this works' ideas, but no one ever talks about how/what they will do to clean the mess up after exposure to heat, rain and UV light for a while.
One of my mistakes was buying a coach with this diamond shield or other plastic coat on the front. Looks OK to begin with, but so many have stories of it cracking and curling and then cannot be removed without a major effort. Mine still looks OK, but I am betting the clock is ticking on the time when it does not.

Some finishes, especially floor waxes, will yellow over time and will also get a kind of milky color if too many layers build up.

That's one of the reasons I stick with ProtectAll.

Both Zep and RMP have removers that work well, reasons for removal that I saw posted before I did our coach were all for peeling which can be directly attributed to prep' work.

I thought long and hard before going to all that work and am sooooo glad I did the job. This process has been used on coaches/trailers for quite some time and the reports of problems are very few and far between when compared to success stories. As with any process requiring preparation of a surface for something to adhere to it, the quality of the prep work is key.
