Renewing Extended Warranty with different dealer

Has anyone had to locate a different dealer when their extended warranty came up for renewal? My dealer no longer handles Allegiance and I want to renew it for just one year so figured it would be simpler to stay with same warranty than to start a new one for such a short period.

You don't have to go through an RV dealer. They get a commission from selling you the insurance just like any other extended service contract broker.
Consider contacting wholesalewarranties.com or an other independent broker. Shop around, it's your money.

If you have a renewal notice of some kind for the policy, doesn't it have a contact for renewing?

If you don't have some sort of renewal offer, I think your question may be academic. Getting an additional year (or whatever) nearly always involves getting a new price quote and a new policy, so you can get it from any sales agent. Or any insurer (policy brand).

Some time ago I had a warranty sales agent offer to "extend my coverage" about a year before the current policy ended, but it turned out what he was really doing was offering to terminate my coverage early and apply the resulting refund to a new policy for four more years. And the cost was substantially higher because the coach was now years older.

I would never purchase a warranty from a dealer. Shop around on your own. A good suggestion by Ray to look into wholesale warranties.

A year after initial purchase when original warranty expired, I purchased an extended warranty from Good Sam. I just changed to Wholesale Warranties who cover more for a whole lot less. I should have shopped around well before now.

When I originally purchased the Allegiance CSI Care policy 3 years ago it was through B & T Marketing Co out of Litchfield Park Az. but when they recently contacted me for the renewal they are now selling Nationwide Auto Warranties instead. I have the phone numbers for the Obligor and the Administrator for Allegiance but no notice from them or anyone connected with Allegiance CSI Care. I figured it would be simpler to renew a year at a time with the same company than to start all over again with a new company but sounds like that's no really true.

Even though B & T is no longer selling Allegiance a person would think someone must be and would be sending out a renewal notice, but again, guess that's not necessarily true either. When I access Allegiance CSI Care's web site it lists the Administrator's phone number but it's different from what's listed on my original agreement from 3 years ago so not sure which one I could contract for a selling agent.
I'd like to stay with Allegiance since the policy is exclusionary and offers consequential damage coverage.

So what you got was sales pitch from the original selling agent, not a renewal ffer from the insurer. That's consistent with my experience - the actual insurer who issued the policy never deals direct. I tried to get a quote from the same insurer I had when my last policy experied, but they merely said "contact an agent" and didn't even offer any names.

A person would think the insurer would be willing to at least give out a few agents to deal with, if they really are interested in selling a warranty. Today my original agent returned my call asking about a 12 month premium since I may not have the coach very much longer and was told a 24 month premium, $800 down with 12 monthly payments of $203, and no refund if cancelled anytime within that 24 months. Think I'll pass on that one. Then Wholesale Warranties and Coach-Net RV Protect was even higher (monthly wise) but for a 48 months quote and no response to a cancellation refund. If I don't do something I'll be without coverage for several months and at least two 450 mile round trips plus 200 miles to the dealer where I'll be trading. As Murphy would have it, usually very shortly after the warranty or insurance expires all the trouble trouble.
Thinking about the camper I met last summer with a used 2005 40' Dutch Star he'd purchased (not sure how long he'd had it) and his Cummins engine broke a piston (with less than 40,000 miles on it) coming north for the summer but his extended warranty covered the $30,000 engine replacement. Kind of scary thinking about this now with a 2004 Cat and 72,000 miles. And all those 11 year old inside-coach appliances.

Cummins should have covered the cost as the ISL had a run of bad pistons. The didn't do a true recall on them but they did install a warning light and shutdown "feature". Usually they broke before that mileage/time though but it still would have been worth a shot.

Even if the owner didn't know or think about Cummin's problem you'd think the shop that did the work would have approached it that way instead of going through his extended warranty. Maybe it was simpler for the shop to do it like that.
