Replaced your Girard GSWH-1M with?

Just picked up a 2015 Dynamax 320xl . It came with a Girard GSWH-1M that I can’t get to work. After reading reviews on this water heater I don’t think I want to even mess with it any more. Have 2 questions for those that have switched what did you go with? Second is for those who decided to go with the newest Girard model was it an easy swap ? Did the water fittings and the propane fitting pretty much line up with the wherethe old units were ?
