Replacing blinds question

Hi,

I would like to replace to bedroom blinds in 08 Itasca Latitude with black out blinds. I called Winnebago and they advised me to contact MCD.

Would I be better off having a blind company fit blinds or purchase from MCD or some other company?

Thanks,

I'd take measurements and then shop around, locally and online. They can vary greatly in price and I don't enjoy overpaying.

"Unicorn Driver".....MCD shades and AutoMotion shades (same style) are very nice and really easy to install depending on your valances. Your coach should have some framed out valances over each window. Some, using the old corded day and night shades were really shallow in depth and left little room for anything but the shade. Many, manufacturers made theirs a little deeper (like 3"-4") leaving room to install the MCD style shades.

You may need to remove your valances to remove the old shades. The MCD shades use a clip that you screw to the inside top of the shade and then just snap the MCD shade in.

When ordering the MCD shade, they have a chart where they tell you to enter the width and length. The chart will tell you how much that shade costs. Typically, several size shades will fit into one chart and the price remains the same until you jump to a larger window.

My last coach had about 16 windows in it. It took me longer to measure them and fill out the paperwork, then it did to install them.

Again, the size (depth) of your valance is a key to replacing the shades.

I replaced all the blinds in my 2007 National with Levelor blinds from Lowe's.

Thanks Bob and Don,

I do appreciate the advice.

I called MCD and they gave me the price list.

Currently putting reflectix up behind the blinds when it gets dark :-) Thats not really sustainable though.

Did you go with special order or the standard blinds available in the store?
