Resorts of Distinction
Just purchased our first motorhome. We are looking into a resale of a ROD membership to a park about 80 miles from our home. We want to travel and are not really looking at it for that park only. Any opinions on the company? Does it really work out to be free sites at other member resorts? It seems like a time share deal to me.

We joined ROD about a year ago to use as a filler between other groups when we travel.
We plot our trip then start laying out possible stops, as long as you keep $25.00 on deposit to cover the "No Show" part of the plan you can generally camp for free at most of thier associate parks.
I thought this was kind of strange until I researched it, you are required to book through them, but I have not been let down yet, I just renewed for another year.
We have memberships in a couple of clubs, one for the west coast, one for the midwest and another for the east coast.

I wish my experience with ROD was good. A member with them more than 7 years and then we decided to join RPI and I am now having issues getting my travel account refunded. They want to charge me to get my own money back they they have been holding since day one. Never again and have already started warning friends. They are losing resorts in the NW for they really have little to offer anymore.

I am thinking that when I was working there WAS places I HAD to be and times I had to be there.
Now that I am retired and threw away my watch the last thing I want to do is be required to be someplace at a certain time. Joining these memberships seems like it would commit you to their schedule and destination.
