The big laminated Rand-Mcnally truckers atlas. It tell you where all the low over passes and restricted routes are. I would not drive an RV on a route that is restricted for trucks. There usually is a very good reason why they are restricted.

Posted by slickest1 "We get the Rand Mc Nalley at Walmart every few years and they cover all of Canada and the U.S. Last one I bought was around $10. "

In addition to all the good inputs already posted, we travel with a copy "Walmart's" unique road atlas version. Unique in that there's a table listing all Walmarts and some info about the store, like whether there's gas and/or diesel fuel pumps available..

Trucker's Atlas - shows highways suitable for a large RV/truck.

FMCA atlas - shows all Walmarts directly on the maps. For those that do not always utilize campgrounds.

I have these but use MS Streets & Trips and my Garmin 255w GPS. I keep both updated with the latest maps and POIs.

I also use Bing and Google Earth satellite views.
