Road Atlases?
I'm trying to hunt down some road atlas's to pack into the RV, can anyone recommend a good atlas for RV'Ing ?

We have several. One is a trucker's atlas that is a few years old now, need to go by a truck stop soon and pick the newest year one, I do look at it. We did have all the AAA ones for the different states but got rid of them. We also have the Next Exit and very rarely do we look at that one. I am sure there are a few others we have but we also have a Garmin DEZL 760 and the cell phones with Google Maps on them too.

We also have the Garmin Dezl 760 which I like a lot, however I do stlil like to look at the route on a paper map. Sometimes Garmin want to take me on routes that I really don't care for. Rand McNally has been our choice so far for paper.
Did you know that you can reroute the Garmin by using the touch screen?

We mainly use Rand McNally, large print and the exit one. I used to drive OTR and can remember several routes we took back then. Those were the day's Drive all over the Back Country (mostly 2 lane ) and get paid to do it. Now I can stop and enjoy the places we had to rush thru.

Rand McNally is a good one, easy to read. I got mine thru Amazon, but they are sold at Walmart for an inexpensive price.

Michelin
I like the Michelin atlas. I find it easier to use because it's not organized alphabetically by state but geographically. So most of the time when you go from one state to it's neighbor you just turn a page. We also have a RM Truckers atlas --the cheaper one, not the $100 one. We don't use it much.

My backup for a GPS is a trucker's road atlas, never leave home without one. Truck routes are highlighted in yellow/orange. This means if you follow the highlighted routes you will always be on a road passable with a semi-truck, easy driving in an RV.
It may involve driving a few more miles to your destination, but you won't get any surprises along the way.

We get the Rand Mc Nalley at Walmart every few years and they cover all of Canada and the U.S. Last one I bought was around $10.

I have been using Trailer Life's RV Road Atlas. It has the truckers routes highlighted and some camp grounds marked.

The Rand McNally large print truckers atlas is what I use. It is expensive. However, the pages are laminated in a spiral binder. The print and graphics are quite large and easy to read. One can make the purchase at most truck stops.
