Roadside assistance

Recent GS roadside assistance evaluation. Service sent by them was an unqualified person for roadside repair self admitted (a tree surgeon). The repair had to be repeated due to bad work. GS would not assist us in any way to solve the issue of bad service costing $520.
It was their choice of help to send.

Now looking into AAA.

If I ran into that,I'd have him not do anything and call them back explaining what is wrong.

Do yourself a favor & call these folks:

https://coach-net.com/

AAA is spotty depending on the state you are in & don't have any real expertise in what is required for an RV.

Just FYI, we travel with two small dogs (under 15 lbs each) and while AAA may come and pick up both you and your vehicle, they DO NOT (have to) take dogs. I told our not-so-delightful (trying to be nice here) AAA tow truck driver to leave me behind with the dogs as I was not getting in his truck without them. I think it was the Shih Tzu with a pink bow in her ponytail that terrified him. It's funny now, but it was an ugly experience.
Always have a Plan B.

Since CoachNet is RV based, I think they would be expecting fur babies.

This weekend at Lincoln City OR watching the eclipse (awesome) I had watched the next door fiver owner with a flat tire deal with a AAA representative that was sent to help. He didn't have the proper equipment to even loosen the lug nuts on a too-tight rim. The owner loaned him an extension handle to get the nuts off. Naturally the lock under the pickup truck spare tire rack was seized and he had to borrow a bolt cutter to get that off. Certainly not the most professional, and that's being nice.

On another note: just read my renewal policy on my Motorhome with AARP (Hartford) and noticed they are including at no cost Roadside Assistance and Valet Assistance. Just something to consider now.
