Roadside Service

I'm sure this has been asked before, but for the life of me I can not find the thread. Roadside Assistance Companies, presently using Good Sam, but curious as to what other think and feel. Regarding other companies that this service, suggestions and recommendations.

There was a thread last couple days regarding insurance and folks were talking the increases by National General. I too, am one of those with an increase of just over $214.00. When I inquired, the reply was that the State of Nevada had rate increase. I can understand and accept that since I pay out of the butt for insurance. Ok, I feel better now... Thanks in advance.

We have been using Good Sam since we started RV'ing in 2001, but I'm thinking about changing to CoachNet when it comes up for renewal. There's probably not a dime's worth of difference when it's all said and done!

olddog49 perhaps it's time to learn a new trick.

Using the search box at the top of the page, (powered by Google) NOT the drop down menu item "Search" next to "New Posts" you will find many threads discussing roadside assistance.

I have been using Coach Net and I've been extremely happy with them. I've needed their assistance twice and they were very fast to respond. Once after suggesting a mobil repair service in the Lake George NY area, they called me the following day to find out if the service was done to my satisfaction.

I like their customer oriented service.

Another one for CoachNet. Very professional, prompt, knowledgeable. I have called them three times; no complaints. Highly recommended.

As with any coverage package, don't cheap out at the last minute. Of course, you likely don't need medical repatriation from Europe or some such thing, but you will serve yourself well by selecting a higher end package. Focus on words like "unlimited", rather than trying to save $30 by guessing how often and how far you may need to be towed.

My roadside assistance comes as a rider on my Progressive policy. It's only an additional $24 a year. I've needed a tow two times in 5yrs. and never had a problem. Once we were in the Yukon Territory, and needed to be towed to White Horse(180mi.). I told them I didn't want a tow, I wanted the coach put on a trailer so it would ride better over the frost heaves. They had no problem with that, but I did have to wait in the campground where we were for a day.

We have used Coach-Net for 5 years. When in Homer, AK, Coach-Net found a quality and reliable truck facility to identify and replace the fuel pump on our diesel. In the western part of Oregon they found a mobile service to replace our serpentine belt. In Alberta, Canada we had an electrical problem with the coach. They found a service facility that identified and repaired the problem in the converter. We have found the Coach-Net people to be friendly and prompt to understand the problem and provide a solution that is fast and efficient for the issue.

I recommend that you look into Coach-Net to see if it fits your needs.
