Roadside service & dogs

I have a neighbor what raises and shows dogs. She is looking for roadside assistance on a MH. She was telling me that she has a friend who shows dogs also, traveling in a MH to dog shows around the country. The friend has Good Sam Roadside Assistance, and they told her that they won't provide assistance to an RV'er transporting dogs to shows, and won't send assistance if she's parked at a dog show and having trouble!

This doesn't make sense to me! If she has trouble on the road, how would they know that these dogs weren't just personal pets?

Anybody heard of this? I went to the CoachNet site to look for a list of rules and limitations but couldn't find anything listed.

GoodSam considers that a business use of the RV and won't cover it. That's what Iv'e heard. have not checked into it personally since I don't show our dogs.

This is exactly it, they do not cover business concerns on the road. It's all about liability, nothing about the dogs per say, It happened to my neighbor as he had a small Class C and used it for his business, and as soon as Good Sam found out, and he still doesn't know how they found out, the service was cancelled.

We have AAA road side assistance, and normally travel with dogs. My wife raises, shows/handles dogs. We had to call for service 3 times in the last ~10 years.

AAA never asked about dogs and we didn't volunteer the info.

One issue when traveling with dogs is if they have to tow the coach and you don't have a toad that fits all your animals you could have some trouble. My wife would never leave an animal in a coach if was being towed. Luckily the last time we had a problem we only had 4 or 5 dogs with us and she could fit them in our Jeep. She drove it home while I waited for a tow and then picked my up at the shop. Luckily we within ~100 miles of home, which is the limit that AAA will tow.

That question is included in an application for ERS, "is this RV used for commercial purposes?". If the answer is yes, it ends the conversation.
