Roof Cleaner

My sister-in-law saw a product on a recent TV show that had two steps. First one cleaned the roof and then you apply the second product that keeps it from getting dirty.

Anyone heard of this or knows what it is?

Dicor makes just such a product, can get it at most RV shops or, as a last resort, Camping World. Camco may also have something too.

This one made me laugh. "Keeps it from getting dirty"?? I guess if you live in glass dome, your roof might not get dirty but, in all reality, yep, it's going to get dirty all over again. Cleaning a roof, no matter what kind of roof, just needs soap and water. Now, since you didn't mention what kind of RV, make model, etc. and or, what type of roof you have, i.e. rubber, EDPM, fiberglass, aluminum, it's hard to recommend an after market protectant or, wax or, nothing. Roofs live in a harsh environment, the elements chew away at them 24/7 365 so, good maintenance is always helping to preserve it.

Nothing will keep it from getting dirty, but some sort of protectant or wax may help it shed dirt in the next rain. Plain old kitchen floor wax, like Mop & Glo, probably works as well as anything else, which is to say "not much". That's because of that 24/7 harsh environment that Fire Up described - the protectant wears off fairly quickly, typically a few months at most.

Maybe Dicor's Roof-Gard protectant lasts longer - I haven't tried it.
