Just as long as the product does not contain any petroleum by-products it should help reduce the effects of the weather. As the roof material weathers it will chalk and rain will wash it down the sides of the RV, leaving streaks and a dull appearance. Black streaks are merely dirt that settled on the roof and ran down the sides. A good black streak remover will help keep your RV clean and shiny.
Dicor, who makes the EPDM roof material, says a simple washing 2X a year is all that is required to make material last the entire warranty period of 10-12 years, but your treatment should extend that, even with outside storage.

I doubt that the "treatment" will extend the life of the roof at all, but there is no way to know unless you treat just half the roof and leave the other half alone. In any case, no harm in trying it, except perhaps to your wallet.

Neither of the two big rubber roof manufacturers, Dicor and Alpha, recommend anything more than washing occasionally, and there are plenty of examples of rubber roofs lasting 15+ years with no treatment at all.

FWIW, I kept a 5er for 10 years and only treated the roof once. The rubber roof was still in excellent condition when I sold it a few months ago. I never kept it under any kind of cover.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
