Roof Vents

The roof vent screens on my 5th wheel need the bugs removed. How do you remove the screens to clean out the bugs? Wife is tired of looking at the dead bugs. The only way I see is to get on the roof and vacuum them out or use a leaf blower and blow them out from the inside. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tom

Most vent screens may be removed for cleaning. Remove the crank handle first, then most manually-operated models have 2 screws holding the screen in place, remove them and the screen will fall out. Blowing dirt and bugs up and away from the screen works, but removal for washing is mandatory for our RV's, DW's hair spray clogs the screen, soap N water is the only remedy.

What brand of vent is it? The Fantastic Vent screens are removable for cleaning. However, for bug removal, I usually just crank the fan up to top speed and flick my finger against the screen to make the bug carcasses jump a bit. The air flow then generally sucks them right out.
