Rooftop AC not cooling

Just purchased 2011 Discovery X. One of the Coleman Rooftop AC units does not cool properly. Does anyone know if there is a way to check freon in the unit. Also there does not appear to be any filter in the return air ducts. That is very perplexing to me. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

The unit is sealed, there are no ports to add refrigerant. If the compressor isn't running, there are starting capacitors that could be bad, preventing the compressor motor from starting.

Often the only filter is a thin foam filter like found behind the grill of a window unit. it's usually in the grid covering the return air in the ceiling.

Is your AC unit also a heat pump. If your AC is blowing warm/hot air it might that the reversing valve is stuck. If so you can tap it with a hammer handle and it will sometimes free up.

In my case when this happen I thought it was the reversing valve and when I went to check it I found that the wire that controls it had come loose and had grounded out against some metal tubing and the insulation was melted. Fixed the wire and that solved the problem. Made sure the wire was secure so it didn't happen again.

If you AC units did not have a filter in them the condensing unit fins may be clogged not allowing sufficient air movement. You may be able to look up and see and use a vacuum with a long tube and brush to clean. If not you may have to get on top and access from there but some sheet metal will have to be removed, no impossible but not easy.
