Rookie - First Questions

New to campers, just got mine. Always used pop-up. Couple questions.

1. How come I cannot find a manual to tell me how to use everything and the maintenance I need to perform. Called camper dealer, he said good luck.

2. Where is a place online to purchase cushions for my seats at the table ?

3. Who makes my camper? All I have to go by is the stickers on the outside of it which says: SkyLine Lite, Model 190 LT (found answer: Layton)

Thanks guys
James

Howdy. Nice looking rig you have there. Apparently Skyline Corporation is the manufacturer. Skyline Recreational Vehicles | Travel Trailers, Ultra Lite, and Fifth Wheel Recreational Vehicles by Skyline You might contact them directly to see if manuals are available, and to ask about maintenance. Good luck and have fun.

You might check Camping World. I noticed the other day that my local CW was selling older versions of many manuals for $4.99 or less.

Most of the manuals delivered with RVs are very generic and don't do a good job of explaining specifics to a particular RV.

This and other forums are a great place for specific answers. Use the search for many of your questions.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of RVing.

Thanks guys. I saw shortly after I posted this my dog chewed up some wiring underneath while it was parked in backyard. I bet everything doesn't work now !! DANG DOG !! See if I cant get under that thing and figure out what damage is done. Wires are color coded so maybe I can at least get driving lights working.

Normally you can download manuals on the internet by Binging make and model...Dometic, Norcold, SeaLand, etc.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new rig!

It's worth a shot to contact the mfgr and try to get a manual for your camper but even many higher end DPs come new with a set of manuals which are little more than a collection of the individual appliance manuals so you might try Google with the make and model of each appliance for available manuals.

Best of luck.

Welcome to our world!

Make a list of the brands, models, etc. of the different components in your RV--
Stove, H/W heater, A/C, etc. Then search these out on the internet.

On the cushion, check with a local upholstery shop to get the replacement cushion.

Think of this as a gigantic do-it-yourself project. Dog wiring included. Once you re-wire everything, you will know how it is done.

PS--Make friends with technically minded people---it helps.

For a generic use & maintenance manual, try this: RV Handbook

You can learn everything that is important by just taking it out to an Trailer Park for the weekend, and ask the neighbors for the help you need. Much better than getting one or two paragraph answers on a forum in my opinion.
