Running themperature wire to the outside of the motor home.

We have purchased and indoor/outdoor thermometer with a built in humidity monitor. I was wondering how to route the wire to the outside of the motor home so that it can best monitor the outside temperature. Which route should the wire take? Through a window? Drill a hole? What have others done?
Thanks.

Take that one back and get one that does all the features that you want and they are wireless. No holes......

That's what I did. I have two wireless units, with one sensor on each side of the RV. This way one sensor is always in the shade.

Our outdoor wireless sensors are placed in a basket with artificial flowers.

I hadn't any idea that there were wireless models. I think I will return it. I purchased it at Walmart and they are very good about returns.
Thanks again!

My wired one has the button outside the window under the awning, just slide window open, double sided tape the button, close window against the wire. No problem. That gives the outside temp. Then I have one with a wireless remote. The remote is in the fridge. Now i know the outside temp, the inside temp, & the other "outside" is the refridge temp...

Walmart has a Wireless Acurite for $9.98 that has a large display and shows the current temp & the max high & low for 24 hrs & then resets itself for the next 24 hrs. Push the top bar to show either the indoor or outdoor temps on constant display. In cold weather the transmitter can be moved to watch & record the air temp in the water compartment. For $10 each you can afford to buy several. A sender can be installed in a upright position on the back side of the front bumper. (This model doesn't show humidity)

That's why I bought indoor outdoor themometer with a wireless sensor from Walmart. About $15. It works great. I have tried putting the outdoor sensor in different places outside my MH. I have it now attached to the rear hitch with a zip tie. I'll move it when we hit the road. It works great. It shows within one degrees of the indoor cab rearview mirror exterior temp. I got this cause I didn't want to worry with what your are trying to do. Just an idea.

Wireless here as well. If wired maybe put the indoor unit where one could run the wire throught the edge of the floor and into the propane tank area.

I ran mine through the drivers side window by pressing it into the channel that the window butts up against.
I then mounted the guage down by the arm rest so I could see the temp. when driving down the road.
