Passport America is less than $50/year, so easy to get a payback. Good website to allow you to plan travels using participating campgrounds. There are sometimes day of week or seasonal restrictions. I always ask to use PA even if restrictions apply as often they will waive the restriction.

Thousand Trails now has their regional memberships which if their locations work for you can be a good deal.

We are PA and TT members and save money with both.

When we were traveling lots and using private CGs then PA was a good deal. As far as Good Sam goes, most of the time if the. CG offered a Good Sam discount they also offered a AAA discount and they were the same, so that did not pay for us.

Do you belong to the Elks or Moose? They both have RV spots at a big discount to members. Not every Lodge has spots but many do.

We have Passport, Good Sams and KOA. All three pay for themselves at the end of the year for us.

If you plan to spend time "on the road", I recommend the Escapees RV club. Yes they have campgrounds, camping discounts, mail forwarding, etc. But that is not the real reason I highly recommend them. They are a wonderful, friendly, caring bunch of folks (over 50,000 of us).

I am a member of GS Escapees and FMCA. I have received benefits from all although Escapees seemed to be the least for us.

GS also gives you discounts throughout the Camping World stores which might save you more.

Hi Vetl82,
I belong to GS, PA, FMCA and the Newmar Owners Klub. Thor may also have an owners club. GS has many, many benefits, fuel being one of the best benefits, for me. CG discounts is only one reason to join any RV club. Consider reading about each organization and determining if you want to participate in any of the other club benefits.

I don't belong to the Moose so I don't know if they advertise the RV spots or not. We have seen RV's parked at various Lodges when we travel. The Elks publish RV books and they have a web site also.

There is no reason not to belong to Passport America. They have a great smart phone app also that will tie into your GPS for point to point directions.

Vet82,
To say one is better than the other, or provide more service than the other would be a disservice to the ones being excluded. They all have their benefits and the all have their exclusions. Some parts of the country you will have restrictions whereas other parts of the country will not. GS, FMCA, AAA, KOA all provide 10% discounts with KOA adding up points that you can use later on for a free night or partial pay at their CG's. PA is a 50% discount club and at $44 a year it doesn't take but a few nights to get a full return on your investment. Escapees is a little more costly but their CG's charge less than 50% in many cases and some of their Rainbow parks are less than that. One Escapee park we stayed at was $115 for a week and each lot was 55 feet wide by 80 feet long.

You can visit the PA and SKP web sites and see if you can benefit from their locations. The 10% discounted ones are basically all over the US.

If you decide on PA, use my number as reference, 477540, and I get a little discount the next time I have to renew.

Are you a Veteran? Then ask for the military/veteran discount. It is the same or more as GS/AAA or others that the campgrounds might take AND you have already paid for it with your service.

Check each one that you are a member of because not all chapters have parking. Some have boondocking only and some have fhu's.
