RV Dealers near San Francisco?

All,

OK, I've been researching the purchase of an RV for a while now. I bought and read the JR Consumer guide. I've been reading this www site and pestering you good folks with embarassingly silly questions... it's time to move to the next phase of my search... window shopping.

I'll be in San Francisco for a week of business meetings in August. I thought since I was in the area, I'd try to find time to stop into a few dealers and browse the inventory. I'm not ready to narrow down the brands or even the style of RV just yet. So I'd like to visit dealers that have a large and varied inventory (new and used).

A google search didn't turn up anything obvious. So I thought I'd ask you folks... Anyone know of any large RV dealers near San Francisco where I can window shop? (I'll be staying in a hotel right at Fisherman's Wharf)

PJ

Hmmm... I can't think of any in the metro area. Space is pretty valuable. The dealer I bought my new rig from is near Sacramento...100 miles away. Village RV in Roseville. Hopefully someone will chime in with something closer.

You might want to do a google on RV shows in California during your visit... THAT's what would be best for window shopping.

PJ,

I am in the South Bay and can tell you that there's really not a decent dealer near SF itself. IMHO, you'd want to go out to the Sacramento area, which is quite a trek. Everybody nearby (and that's still a 50 mile trek for you!) has poor inventory and wildly optimistic pricing (which is why most of the rigs they have on their lots have been there for the past 18 months I've been keeping half an eye open on stuff).

Wish I had better options for ya...

Steve

The only thing if come up with so far is camping world in Vacaville(?) they claim to have 140 units on the lot of various types and manufacturers. 75 miles from where I'll be.

I wish there was an RV show when I was there. That would be great.

LaMesa RV in Dublin and Davis have a fairly large inventory but call before you go as many times they empty out for shows. Not recommending them just stating.
