RV Digest-It by Unique
Anybody try this product? Supposedly has some fairly good reviews as a black water tank cleaner. It's supposed to work wonders.

Had a good laugh! "Google" thinks it's a Colon cleaner-Not quite the same, but close.

I'm currently using Rid-X to try and clear a black sensor that shows 2/3 full when it is totally empty. I don't have any plans, so I'm going to let it "soak" for a week.

Yes I've tried it and now using it exclusively.

I use to use Rid-X, but this stuff works better/faster. We ran out in Fl this year and was forced to use Camco TST. This stuff is a good digester, but ain't that great for controlling smell. Anyway, I didn't tell Clare I had to switch. The next day she started bitching. I was politely told to never use anything else again and I am in complete agreement!

I wanted the Rid-X liquid, but the store down the street from me only had the powder. It would have been 10 miles RT to Lowe's to get the liquid. I used warm water, but the powder didn't dissolve completely. Looked like coarse sand in the bottom of the jug.

The liquid is probably better for RV use, but it does desolve and disperse throughout the tank, just takes a bit longer. Really no reason to try to disolve it and I hope you didn't kill it with too hot of water. I don't know the killing temp, but I would stay under 100 degrees.

Like I posted before, I don't keep my S&B water any hotter than I can stand with my hand under the faucet. Don't know what temp that is though. I'll go check right now. Got dishes to do.

Rut-Row... Meat thermometer says ~110°s. It wouldn't stay at that in the jug for too long.

Regarding Rid-Ex powder or liquid.. The difference in activity is a few minutes. (In short not enough to notice) you can use either with much the same results.

I have used Digest-It like products over the years... Do not personally feel they made a hill of beans differnce, One thing I have found is NOTHING cleans sensors save either the GEO method or high pressure water blast. And neither is 100% guaranteed.

Check out the "Master Blaster" by Valterra.. I"m not sure how well it will hold up but before I ever saw one.. I made my own out of PVC, it has held up well. but it's much better built.

Check out "Happy Camper" for the black tank. They guarantee your complete satisfaction! They have a version which I believe was called "Extreme" which is a souped-up solution for tanks that are really messed up! After you get it clean, then you go back to the regular mix. Good luck!

I used my on-board black tank spray system several time and it didn't fix the sensor.

I made a PVC sprayer with a 90°, 3/16" hole and it shot a good strong blast. I aimed it in every direction down the toilet. Didn't work.

Just checked and the water has risen in my toilet by about 4 inches and turned from clear to a milky green color. Still going to watch the level and let it soak a few more days and maybe go for a short drive to stir things up and maybe clean the sensors.

Thx, wa8yxm. Good to know I didn't waste my money on the powder. Hope it works, as I really don't want to try to find the sensors or take the wet compartment panels off.
