RV Driving School Houston?
Hi,
I have been trying to find a driving school in Houston to get my non-CDL B license. I would like my license prior to buying a diesel pusher so that I can test drive legally. It seems there are no facilities to help in this regard, I have no problem studing and taking the exam(s) but what to do in regards to the driving test other then a school that provides a unit?
It's kinda like the chicken and egg syndrome which came first license or MH?
Thanks for your advice!

You don't need a CDL in Texas to drive a RV.

I think he knows that as he stated "non-CDL." But he may requrie a Class A or B.

I went ahead and got a CDL B using one of the truck driving schools. Then I went to the DPS and had it downgraded to a non-CDL B. I tried to get a non-CDL using the school, but the examiner insisted I had to get the CDL since I was going to be taking the test in a commercial vehicle that required the CDL. :(

Unless he is driving a vehicle with a gvwr higher than 26001# and towing a vehicle of 10,000 or higher, no form of CDL is required.

Since he's buying a diesel pusher, it's quite possible that a non-CDL Class B is needed. Please try to stick to the topic, which is how to get the desired license, not whether he needs one or not.

Yes the non-commercial "B" license is what is required for a RV over 26001# in Texas. I'm looking at a tag axel Dutch Star or something similar - Thanks

But he is asking for advice for a non-CDL class B and, you keep telling him he does not need a CDL. Not the advice he is looking for.
