The RVForum.net site is still down due to a failed migration to a new server.

A lot of the guys that used to hang out on the old CompuServe RV forum are there. It's a good forum in my opinion.

It will be back up I am sure. This morning I get a Forum Maintenance message that says :
"Sorry folks, we're doing some maintenance &/or upgrades. We'll be back shortly."

Their web hosting company has repeatedly bungled a routine migration from one server to a larger one. What was supposed to be an upgrade turned into a disaster. They will be back on the air once the mess gets straightened out.

As some of you may know, I am on the staff of RVForum.net as well as IRV2.

That's a long time to be out of service.

I think they are up and down. It worked yesterday and is working as we speak. This message appears on the home page:

We're currently migrating our site to a new server with increased resources to meet our needs going forward. As we transition, you may find our forum (message boards) &/or our web site are inaccessible, and you may see an error message. We'll be back just as soon as Tech Support can complete the transition. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions about the status, feel free to click the Contact Us link on the left of the page to send us an email.

That said, when you try any links, none work. So they're are in some sort of migration.

If anyone here knows what is going on there, it would be Gary.

Before this happened Tom posted a notice of an impending upgrade

Then it went down (503).

Then it came back up

Notices were posted that the host had had a problem with the upgrade and reverted to the old system for a while.

Then it went 404

And now it says "We are working on it"

Oh the joys of upgrading.

Have patience, it will return, Theory has it stronger and better.. Or so the host company says.

If you think this is fun.. The RVforum (for those who do not know) started as a forum on the Compuserve Information Service, when CIS was sold to AOL and AOL made major changes.. Well... Let me put it this way.. There was a lot of this going on back then, and still today they have occasional issues.
