RV information for Daytona 24 hour

Hi, I hope this is the right spot. We are RVing across the United States starting mid August this year. One of our must see's is the Rolex Daytona 24 hour in Florida end of January. Has anyone taken or experienced rving to this event or one similar? Any information you would like to share? I would really appreciate any input.
Thank you,
RedJammer

I've been to a number of NASCAR events at Daytona. I've always parked inside the track as I was part of the show (manufactures rep). The 24 hr race is lightly attended in comparison to the Daytona 500 so it shouldn't be to hard to get a spot ($710 this year). Contact the race track at

Expen$ive for 4 nights, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and depart by noon Monday,
plus admission. But that is part of the experience.
And you need good legs or a golf cart to get around.
Having a toad with you, other campgrounds may be less expensive and equally fun. Cabbage Patch is one.

Daytona Parking

Yes, I thought it was high also. The only track that I had to pay for parking was Watkins Glen. But, the $125 for the long weekend included electric hook-ups and it was right next to the pit area. At all the other tracks, parking was free. The exception was Indy and they wanted $1200! I parked across the street and road my scooter into the infield. It helps to be "connected".
