RV Insurance

Hope this is in the right forum.

What are the companies most folks use for insuring their RV?

Any issues to be concerned about?

Earlier this year we switched over to Good Sam insurance on our car, truck and travel trailer. The policy is actually with National General. No claims yet or expected (knock on wood), so can't say how good they are at this point.

I doubt there is one good answer which fits everyone. I tried several companies when we went full time (my old one, Liberty Mutual would not insure full timers). I found the best deal with GEICO. No claims, but they have been good to work with to get the coverage exactly right. Spend your time getting quotes and then check the reviews on line for the best two or three.

We went from USAA and Progressive to Good Sams. They set us up with National General on the coach and our two cars - a 2013 MKX and a 2015 MKS. We saved over $2,000 per year and got better coverages. Give them a try. We had hail damage in South Dakota two summers ago whee we had the 2013 Aspire and they charged only one deductible as the vehicles were together at the time. We also like the fact that we need to deal with one company and not two different ones in the event of a claim. I also added a $2,000,000 umbrella for $300 per year. We were so happy with their service we dropped USAA and moved to them with our home. USAA is great but just got out of line dollar wise - still use them for other banking services.

Last year we went to The Hartford through AARP and saved $1,500 over National General.
My DW died in August so I called today to remove her from the policy and maybe get some money back.
HA HA jokes on me, my insurance will go UP since I have 2 cars and the motorhome and only one driver! Wouldn't you think having one less driver on three vehicles would lower your rates? Guess not in the insurance world.
My DW hadn't driven for three or four years but was still on the policy as a driver.
