res or the paint missing on the rear bumberWhile it has been a lief long dream to go RVing around our country, Then added to that dream was my life long wife(by the way not her's). as a great partner though she was going along. Until our hopes were wrecked. All it took was on dishonest person. because we were getting our RV through an assumption company is what made it worst, not on there part though. It was the seller that had no honesty in the RV community. We did our research both with in IRV2 and outside as to weather it was a Travel Supreme that we wanted to do it in, which we did com to that conclusion. So we made the arrangements to get the insurance, GoodSams extended warranty and roadside service. Then we got our one way tickets from New Jersey to LasVegas to pick up the perfect used TS. We know that there are going to be thing wrong with a 6 year old motor coach. But when we got there it was a desert rotted roach. The wire harness was eating by desert rats which the owner(not an electrician)felt he cold just tap them back together. That was the good part. he could not evening get the air bag system to work to get it to a shop to find out why it was not working.So for three days the service center and my wife and I were just lied to that it was being towed in every day we waited. We could not take it any longer and had to now rent a car so we could drive 180 miles out to the desert to see this wonderful coach we were buying, but couldn't run enough to get in to the shop for a check over.Well to say the least it was one of the most disappointing thing we had ever seen. This 06" was in the shape of a 1906, and every time i would point out something that was broke, he wold say we can fix that for a couple of dollars or you know its used (15K miles)He new we were coming for weeks because we sent him the airlines itinerary.I can not go over everything like the tires dry rotted or the paint missing on the rear bumper, that was never was disclosed.Here is the moral of the story for us. We are still with out a motor home to live out are dreams and this scumbag that tried to take advantage, just because we spent the money to get out there will get him. here is the irony about him is that every other word out of his moth was God or have a blessed day.I despise people like that and it wont be god that he will being saying when his end comes. NOW WITH THAT OFF MY CHEST, I WOULD LIKE TO REACH OUT TO THE RV COMMUNITY TO SE IF THERE IS ANY ONE THAT IS LOOKING TO GET OUT FROM UNDER A GOOD COACH, BUT IT JUST NOT FOR THEM ANYMORE. PLEASE LET US KNOW OR SOME ONE YOU MIGHT KNOW. THANK YOU FOR YOU TIME

Man that is a bad deal. You should look at Coaches for sale by dealers or at least consignment . Hate you got burnt but learn form this and trust nothing you cannot see

Sorry that you had all the problems.

Check out PPL Motor Homes. They have a good reputation and have a lot of consignment coaches for sale.

Sorry to hear about your experience...hope you didn't loose anything more than your time & the expenses of flying to Vegas. Sometimes it is better to spend a bit more to buy local or budget some $$$ & time in the big used RV centers like Florida or Arizona. At least you get a chance to really look-over your purchase and be sure it is right for you! Regardless, live & learn...good luck with your next opportunity.

BTW...what is an " assumption company"?

Went and saw he had posted several post about buying a 40 Ft back a ways,I'm confused also,I guess bored and wanting to talk?

He has only posted about a Travel Supreme, so I assume this is the same coach he was buying.

Sad story but it was foolish to attempt to buy a coach sight unseen and expect a good outcome for both parties. I made two trips driving 800 miles round trip to inspect and negotiate the sale for the coach I have now. Buying a used class A warrants either the expense of an inspection trip in person and/or paying a knowledgeable third party to be your eyes regardless of perceived reputation of the seller. Next to my home the coach has been the biggest expense of my life so far and I would never consider spending that much money without first seeing, in person, what I'm about buy.

Hard lesson learned but at least you did not follow thru with the sale. With any private party motor vehicle sale the seller has little if any legal obligation to disclose anything and it is incumbent on the buyer to protect their interest. When does quoting scripture automatically make someone you have never met and have no relation a good or honest person? The seller isn’t so much of a ‘scumbag’ as you are naïve to expect the seller to look out for your interests.

If you really did research buying a coach how many times has it posted to get an inspection, know what you are buying, don’t buy sight unseen and don’t plan a long first trip with a new to you coach? You didn’t listen to us in the past, will this time be different?

Caveat Emptor - Let the buyer beware.

Buying sight unseen is like buying a pig in a poke. Even when you can examine them there are often hidden problems the owner doesn't mention. Surely there are dealers where you live where you can examine the coaches in person. Check Craigslist, there are always rigs for sale under RVs. But be very careful because those selling RVs are no more honest than those snakes and weasels selling used cars.
