It's tough. In our transition to full timing we found that if we wanted a loan for the rig of our choice we had to have a job and own a house. We discovered this at the last minute as our house was on the market and retirement only weeks away. We got lucky and secured the loan before accepting a contract on the house, but it was literally only days apart.

I have a good relationship with my credit union. Obtaining a loan as a full timer with a South Dakota mail service address was easy. Try joining a credit union and deposit money there.

Essex Credit (Bank of the West) has been mine for the last five years. Interestingly enough the rates for full timers is higher than Part timers. Who knew?

We just got a loan for 10 years at 4.17% through Good Sam. The lien holder is Bank of the West. It was very easy no hassle.

Check with an RV dealer for guidance. Maybe they can arrange it for you.

Every RV dealer will have 3-4 sources of financing.

I would think their manufacturers would also have dealers lined up with retail financing, as it's virtually impossible to be in this business without financing.

Alliant Credit Union. They are great. Great rates too. Give you decision in just a little bit too. If you are an Escapees member that qualifies. This site may, haven't checked.

We got REAL surprised when we learned that neither Essex nor Good Sam would loan money to residents of Alabama.

A local credit union did the deed without so much as a piece of paper having to be produced by us...so we got lucky; especially since we'd already given a deposit to the Florida broker.
