Not a fun thing to ever have happen. I would imagine those folks were South bound like many, many others that I've seen on I-90 and I-87 the past couple of weeks.

Whatever it is about that road - I broke an axle on a pop-up many years ago near Ayer then watched a brand new Corvette burn to ashes as well just off I-95. Since I used to commute every Monday (plus return)from near Albany, NY to Saco, ME for over two years that way saw more then my share of bad accidents on that highway.
