Thanks also to those responsible for locating the generator directly below the slide out, ouch!!
A failing fuel pump is a common problem on the 4000. Your symptom of the pump not running immediately after a shutdown is exactly what I experienced. Fortunately, the fuel pump on the 5500 is a lot more accessable and easy to change out.

Others have covered dirty carbureators quite well, but on the altitude adjustment: This is very much the same as a mixture adjustment on other gas engines. Turning the screw counter clockwise lets makes the mixture richer and clockwise, leaner. The easy way to get it right is to hold a white rag or paper towel a couple inches from the exhaust pipe. If the mixture is too rich, you will see soot on the rag. Tighten the screw 1/8 turn at a time until there are no deposits on the rag. Wait at least 30 seconds before testing
after the new adjustment. When the rag stays clean, back off the screw a little and test again. Tighten only enough to have the rag stay clean.

I know it crazy but mine does the same when i get down to 100 miles to empty on fuel gauge. It took me forever to figure it out. Hope you get to the bottom of it.

Make sure you have over a 1/4 tank of gasoline.

Next time it fails trying the priming feature (holding the stop button down), that should activate the fuel pump, and if you don't here it then you know it is a goner, probably overheated. Common.

The fuel line problem is real, but far less common. You can test for that by using a jug of fuel and new 1/4 hose as your fuel source for the RV for a test.

Removed the gas cap first and started the generator, it stalled after a few minutes, removed fuel line again at carb and hit the start button, no fuel. New pump on the way, I’ll update. Thanks again

The new pump and filter did the trick, generator has been running smoothly for an hour now. I also installed the fuel line adapter which eliminates the second fuel filter at the carb. Never did check the float bowl, couldn’t see how any tool can fit in there to get at it without maybe removing the air box first. Glad to update. Thanks

Fault 36 on a Oman lp Generator

I’m working on a Oman lp generator with a fault code 36. It will run for a 1/2 hour and shut off. You have to wait for about 2 to 3 hours and it will start again. Looking for some help.
