RV park package deal

The better half entered a "contest" at a RV sales store. She "won" and now we have been invited to a meeting to explain all the benefits that are now ours. One of which is a guaranteed site member park locations. The package we have won is "normally sold for $2,000.00". This sounds to good to be true. Has anyone on this forum had a similar experience? My tendency is to think this is a scam that could be VERY expensive in the long run. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hello Gordon, Invited to a meeting is the key word here.......so is the 2k just for one season???? sounds about right?
Nothing is free in our world, and with what you have posted so far, there is a catch to this, I don't sign up for anything, that is how one gets junk mail, internet and mailbox................let us know how it turns out please......

Agreed...if it states "invited to a meeting" I would bet it's one of those sales pitches to get you to BUY. Definitely go if it's close by but I wouldn't travel a great distance for it. They can send you "what you won" in the mail. You don't have to have it explained to you. Many on these forums would be glad to explain it to you.

We naively signed for one of those contests at a RV rally and got picked. We attended one of those meetings for Thousand Trails giving us a 3-day vacation on them. It was a big push to buy and they kept repeating "if you don't buy now in five years you won't be able to find a place to stay". We full-timed for 16 years and we found awesome places to stay for 6,940 nights!

They are trying to sell you on a membership or similar. Stay away unless you are really good at saying no and don't mind having your time wasted.

Sounds like the same sales pitch they use for time shares.

My BS meter wound up so fast that I am using it for a ceiling fan. Keep the scams coming.

Just reading your response was more than worth the time we apparently wasted in taking the call in the first place. My wife wrote it down for further use. LOL
