I agree ... I can't imagine running/owning an RV park. We have friends who live at and manage a seasonal RV park and the horror stories she tells are almost unbelievable. And it boils down to people thinking the rules only apply to everyone else! I'm pretty sure they could write a very entertaining book!

I have seen some conversions that are awesome but your post got me wondering weather some of these conversions are up to " code" and could pose an insurance risk for the campground and jeopardize the safety of follower campers. I realize a new RV can malfunction but again just curious.

RV park rules
I would like to see a rule of no Dog s in campgrounds. The least they could do is make it illegal for people to leave their dogs alone at the site or in the Coach while they are out and about. I don't go camping to listen to someone's dog bark all day. I have dealt with this many times.

We have come across some RV parks that do not allow dogs. They are hard to find. We have also been to campgrounds that have pet sitting and day kennels.

I suspect that "dog free" parks would have a hard time turning a profit except in a very few select locations.
It's always amazed me that when walking around a park about 95 percent of units seem to have dogs. However, every used unit ever advertised says "no smoking and no pets". Yeah, right.

I suspect very few of those conversations have been properly certified.
In that case it's not elitist at all, but merely law-abiding.

I agree that slow composting a bag would be a longer process.

You carry the bag back to your unit and dispose of it in the garbage can.

I agree. Isn't it about 90% of RVers travel with their pets? That's the main reason people buy an RV so they can.

These days I don't see that as a real excuse. Hotels and motels that allow pets are fairly commonplace.
We don't take the dog if our plan involves a lot of time away from the camper doing things which aren't dog friendly. I won't leave him in the trailer because I know that he would bark a lot, and I'm not about to be "that guy". Not only would he bark, but he would not enjoy spending hours each day alone in the TT.
If our plans are inappropriate for taking the dog, he stays in the BowWow Barn and gets to spend most of the day playing with other dogs. While I love to have him along, my wishes must accede to the comfort of others in the camp, as well as to his safety and enjoyment.

Our pets were the reason WE bought our coach. Never felt comfortable leaving them with total strangers (kennel) & the cost to kennel 4 would be more than our vacation.

Dogs/pets aren't a problem as long as you have responsible, considerate owners.
Take dog to the dog park, pickup after pet. Pets will do what they do it is up to us to not impose on others.

As LisaBlue said,
We got the rv because of the dog and the fact that our previous 10 year old 100 lb lab died in a kennel...

"As a real excuse?" Not sure what that even means as it was a statement and not an excuse. Not all hotels are pet friendly. And I am sure they have similar problems. Traveling with pets is the benefit of an RV. As someone mentioned earlier, a campground banning pets would only appeal to the minority. I am ok if there are some out there. We just wouldn't go there. There are going to be the few that don't follow the rules. Let's just hope the campground enforces them and acts accordingly.

Us, too! It's hard to find pet sitters. They are our kids. [emoji846]
