I use a pilot/flying J card called frequent fueler advantage. It gives me the cash price plus 3 cents per gal off. Then I use the pentagon federal charge card that gives 5% cash back for fuel as long as you use it at the pump.

I have used this card now for quite a few years and so far I've never experienced what was discussed in this thread. PFJ send me an email with the attached statement, where all the transactions are listed and the date when the payment is due.

Then a week of so of the due date, I go to the website, authorized them to credit the due amount in my checking account. Then they emailed be back telling me when the due amount will be credited from my account.
As simple as that but of course, if you don't want to provide your account information, then maybe that might cause a problem on how to pay your bill.

Don't know about the rest of the country but here in the west coast, most of the PFJ along the routes I used have dedicated pumps for RV's; some are within the truck lanes (for gassers), some are by itself separate from the truck lanes.

I believe the payment method depends on the limit you have chosen.

If it's a $1,000 limit then you can pay by check, auto-draft on your checking account or online.

If it's a $2,500 limit then payment is by auto-draft only.

From PFJ RV Plus Card FAQ section:

What is my credit limit when I sign up for the RV Plus Charge Card?

If you choose to pay your bill online or by check, you will be issued a $1,000 line of credit every 30 days. If you choose to pay your bill through auto-draft and provide your bank information when you apply, you will be issued a $2,500 limit every 30 days. You can change your method of payment at any time, but that change may affect your credit limit.

Definitely an old thread but like Rom, I've had excellent results. I use the semi/diesel lanes and with the card, there is no reason to go inside. They automatically deduct the balance each month (from my bank account) about a week after receiving the statement via email. The discount is nice, the convenience is.. well... priceless.

I set up a special account for payment of the card. I keep enough money in it to cover my credit limit. In the time I've had the card it has worked with no problems. I find I don't use it as often due to them going to Bio fuel and charging the same price as their competitor for non bio. My Wal-Mart card gets $.o5 discount with additional cash back when certain limit reached. However they have gone to Bio as well.

These days virtually all diesel fuel contains B2= 2% biodiesel, and it does not have to be listed on the pumps.

Got the card early on with a $1,000 limit. Wanted to go on a 5 week trip and knew that I would go over that amount. Picked up the phone and talked to a nice lady and explained what I wanted to do. She promptly raised my limit to $2,000 while I was on the phone. I made that trip and more and checked my balances online. Sent a paper check to arrive before the due date and all is still well. Been doing this since the beginning and card still works!
Good luck, good health and safe travels!

We have the 2,500 limit. We have had the rv plus card for 5 years now. We have never had any problems. One week before they deduct our payment they send us an e-mail telling us the amount they will deduct. We use the diesel lanes unless we need to dump the tanks. If we use the 2,500 we can go in and pay it and we are back in business again.

Here I am reading that in 2012 they were working on it and I find now in 2017 there is no link to create an account on the Home Page, I have the card, I want to establish an on-line payment option since the account is not a revolving charge account but "pay balance every month" type of account. Would I be correct in assuming that they prefer mailed statements and checks as payment?

You can pay online at any time. I have never had an issue. Just need to log in to your account and select bill pay

I always pay online just by logging on to my account and chosing pay bill. Very easy as I have my mh bank account set up with them.
