Ray,
Thank you for posting this. I wonder why we owners are not contacted directly when a problem is known to the manufacturers?

We are, but I found out people on forums like this sometimes know or find out about these things WAY before I get a recall letter.

The other thing is, as the owner/consumer, one has to be sure to register with the mfr ALL the systems/appliances one has in their RV. It's the only way for the mfr to contact you in case of a recall.

Lori is right. Our 97 Jeep has a recall for a potential fire hazard with the gas tank if rear-ended, like the old Ford pony car. Chryslers fix is to install a trailer hitch to protect the tank. Anyway I read about the recall on the internet but didn't receive any contact from Chrysler until 6 months later. That letter came 6 months ago, still no further contact from them.
