RV rentals

Does anyone know about delivering a NEW unit from Indiana to the west coast for Rental companys out there? I say an add the other day (can't remember which company) that had units to be delivered from Elkhart to L.A., L.V. or San Francisco. Rental rates were cheap and had time frames involved? Any ideas. thanks

Why would YOU pay to deliver a unit for a manufacturer? They should pay you.

People do it though. I don't understand it. There's a thread here on iRV2 about a company that gets people to deliver RVs into Alaska. They give you a very tight delivery time(read no side trips) and if you want extra days, you have to pay 'rental' costs for them. The fuel is on the delivery person as is the CG costs. You also have to pay for a short term insurance policy. It a great deal...for the owners. Bob

BTW. One pays their own way to pick up the RV and all the return costs. Another reason not to do this is that not all RVs roll off the assembly line in perfect condition...how does one deal with all the bugs that pop up on maiden voyages? Elmer Fudd said it best "Be verwee, verwee careful".

Check out this thread...http://www.irv2.com/forums/f59/north...a-88043-3.html There are some positives of doing this. Comments start with post #35 I believe, from Lindsey Richards. It's not exactly the start/arrival points you're asking about,, but it might give you some ideal how it all works. Bob
