RV Roof Vent Rattle

I bought a used RV about 9 months ago and have taken 2 short and 1 long trip. Each time I noticed the forward Roof Vent rattles at highway speeds (approx 65 mph). I have checked it and my RV Service center has checked it and all parts are in good order and it does not seem loose. If any one has any ideas as to what I need to do to fix it. I though about mounting a dash board camera up there and drive it on the highway and see if I can find the rattle. If anyone else has an ideas how to remedy this let me know.

If there is no fan in the vent I would try having someone hold a finger at various parts of the vent to see where the noise is coming from. If you have a fan you may need to drop it down to do it. You most likely have a wind rattle.

Happy Trails!!!

Do you have vent covers like the Maxair covers. My covers were rattling, weather stripping between them and the roof fixed them. Another roof rattle I had turned out to be the batwing tv antenna. Any continuous rattle or squeak drives me nuts until I find and fix it. Good luck.

The noise may be coming from the screen wire fan guard? Mine rattled and I just put a small wedge between the screen and the fan housing.

I don't know what Mexair covers are. I will look to see if they are marked with that name. The weather stripping was inspected by my RV Service center and they said it was fine. They also checked all the bolts and screws for tightness. they did tighten a couple but the rattle continued. Perhaps the weather stripping is not thick enough. I will check that.

I have the Fantastic Fans in my rig. They have a manual latch to hold them shut tight when traveling. I'd never seen them on a Fantastic Fan till this one.
