New Tiffin owner here. I have a question that's burning a hole in my brain.

I see lots of RV park reviews, but right now I'm concerned about RV storage.
Where do you guys park your RV's when not on the road? I live in the DC suburbs in Maryland and need to find a place to store the RV not at my house.

How do you find such a place? What is the best kind? What is your experience? What is a reasonable cost?

Thanks!

BoogieMan

Just wanted to exten a welcome from another Tiffin owner. Hopefully someone from that area will respond shortly. I'm fortunate in that our HOA has a space for RVs and trailers.

Welcome. I bought a deeded lot at a campground south of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The yearly dues are cheaper than storage fees. There are some in MD also, but don't recall where.

Check out mini storage locations. I have mine stored at a secure storage facility that has spaces for 5 motorhomes. Costs $60 per month but it is outside and there is no power. The other option is campsites that usually have a separate storage area. If you are near Woodbine in Northern Maryland they have just built a nice paved storage facility which has power to some sites.

Thanks, guys, for all the responses, keep up the good work! I'm not done searching yet. I'm in no BIG hurry as I won't take delivery until at least mid-December.

I am near Germantown, MD. Most Va locations won't work for me, but thanks.

I'm not retired military.

I think I'm looking first for a storage facility that's like a garage for RV's, but what do I know, I'm just starting my search.

Keep the suggestions coming! and Thanks!

Some of the deeded campgrounds are almost free to buy (the owner just wants out of the annual fees).. and they offer pools and lakes to use while "working" on the rig..

Check Craigslist.. they pop up from time to time..

Did you get anything other than a concrete slab to park on?

Boogie,

Assuming you are still looking....
A few years back, I researched some storage lots on the outskirts of Bel Air, MD (my brother-in-law lives there, hence he knew where they were). So my suggestion is that most rural- / small town- / bedroom community- locations such as this might have what you need....and they can be found via rags such as "Auto Trader" (free) advertisements or CraigsList, etc. But some of these are not very secure. If you want to sleep well at night, you'll have to pay up for a name-brand storage location.

Still looking. I'm not looking ultra low cost as some security is a must.
