I will be purchasing my 1st RV tomorrow and I have started putting together a list of supplies that I need to keep in my RV. What "out of the ordinary" things do you all keep in your RV that I should keep in mine?

What type of MH? Alot depends on the type. What I used to carry in our Class 'C' is different then what I carry in our 38' Class 'A' DP.

Raising..a suggestion....camp in your driveway 1 night or more. Make yourself NOT go into your house are garage for supplies. Keep a big note pad handy to jot down what you don't have while driveway camping. This helps a great deal on finding out what you don't have and or what you need. and....CONGRATS!

Class 'C' MH's can be fun. They are easy to drive and can fit in most places. Other then the normal items that you would have in a house, repair tools, we have extension cords and portable work lights so repairs can be made in the dark. Make sure that you have a jack that will lift/support the MH and some heavy duty pads for either the jack or to use for leveling. Ensure that you have the 'proper' tools to remove the tires. While you may not be changing tires, you might get a rock stuck in the rear duals and need to remove it. When going on long trips I carried a longer hose so that I could wash the MH when I got the chance.
For the items that you need inside, watch the local garage sales to get stuff cheap.
Have fun on your travels. And yes it is a good idea to camp some place close to home for a shake down cruise. Something that the DW has done is that she has list for items that need to be looked after. One for the spring time load up, for weekend trips, for hunting trips, for long vacations and for when we put the MH away in the winter. Beleive me the list come in handy.

One thing that I carry is lumber, 2 by the width of a tire, assorted lengths.

In fact I have stair steps consist of a 1 foot length glued to the top of a 2 foot lentgh to the top of a 3 foot length like this

Very interesting. My uncle carries 2xs to park his bumper pull on top of just to get it out of the grass. I like the idea for leveling. Thanks!
