I heard about a church that was robbed the other day by taking the A/C for the copper.

Thieves are the armpit of the criminal population. They work harder at being criminals the if they worked at a normal job.

What goes around comes around. They will eventually get treated worse than they have treated others.

So, they stole over $6,000 worth of equipment for a few $100's in copper? Makes sense doesn't it!

Copper thieves are scum.

Last year, copper thieves broke into our gun club's club house and removed as much copper as they could, then torched the club house for a total loss.

We found the copper in a trash can by the hedge row.

They didn't get anything and we lost everything.

What a shame, the dealership I bought my RV from in April has an armed guard on the property from closing to opening every day.

Same thing happened at my storage lot about a couple of months ago. Took all the copper wiring they could find. But nothing from any vehicles.

I had a commercial space in a small shopping center some years ago. One night ~30 AC units were ripped up for the copper. Huge repair expense and loss of business for many of the shops there...

If there was no market, there would be no stealing

Copper theft is a huge problem in SC.I am in the A/C Business and see it almost everyday we caught some people stealing our units from our shop they had to pay a $250.00 fine they had been arrested 32 times the towns keep making money off of them so they keep putting them back out on the streets.
Another thing they are doing is stealing cars that is over 10 years old and taking them to the scrap yards and getting $600.00 for them if they get caught it is a $500.00 fine.I am so sick of these crack heads doing this but when they keep sending them back out what can we do.

We lost the war on dope. The thieves after copper for dope. I keep hoping some dope electrocutes themselves while gathering the copper. It has happened only a few times.

Personally....I'm not so worried about the regular petty crooks & copper theft....wait until the real professional thieves (Wall Street Banks) get finished with all of us!

Wall Street banks, meanwhile, are focusing their attention on another commodity. After a sustained lobbying effort, the Securities and Exchange Commission late last year approved a plan that will allow JPMorgan Chase, Goldman and the Blackstone Group to buy up to 80% of the copper available on the market.

We had a guy climb and 8' chain link fence with razor wire on top to get into a substation and started cutting wires. Made a crispy critter out of him.
