With my first RV, a class C some 40 years ago, I added a top of the live auto alarm system....Mistake! Auto alarm systems (back then at least) worked on fluctuation in voltage...you open a door, the light goes on the alarm goes ring. Or, you shake the car the alarm goes on. Well the frig, and all the parasitic draws on power would set of the alarm, and with the box profile, the wind would set of the motion sensor. It only took a half dozen false alarms for me to ditch the system. Perhaps I'm just lucky, but in 40+ years I have never had an attempt to break into the MHs. When traveling I rely on situational awareness, never leaving the coach where I feel uncomfortable. As for having the manufacturer install an alarm, it would just add another $500 to $1000 to the price, and the 4 TVs my current MH came with is more than enough of a waste (in my humble opinion).
Happy Trails.
