RV Wash
Heading to Keys in a couple of weeks. Was trying to find a place to get the beast washed before we get to it's resting place for a couple of months.
Is there anything in Homestead or Key largo?

There are services that will do a wash and/or wax while you are sitting on your site. However, it being the keys the price will match the locale.

Have had good results from these guys:
Location List
I usually do two washes per trip....
one after long storage to make it purty for the trip...
and one just before we stop to get MOST of the bugs, etc... off before stopping...
$35 for our bus is WELL worth it to me...
rain-x is optional,
but I always do the wheel shine as it makes our POP !

X2 for Blue Beacon RV wash. They have 2 locations, in mid-state FL. They are about 1/2 the price of the in-CG wash crews, and IMO do just as good a job. Many truck stops have a truck wash avoid them! Blue Beacon has an RV specific wash procedure.

I wouldn't have Blue Beacon wash my grandsons Radio Flyer wagon. Terrible job, streaks looked like they used oil contaminated water???
The only commericial wash I liked was Little Sisters in Barstow Ca.
The rv park we are at in Homestead Fl, the guy charges $4 a ft. (thanks, washed and dried my own)

We've had good luck with Blue Beacon. Just to be safe, ask them to use half-power on the power wash. Also to stay away from any kind of intense washing near the water heater and fridge access panels. All they do is a multi-man power wash -- they don't dry it off (at least at the ones that I have been to). If you can get to a sunny Interstate highway pretty quick, it dries pretty good (but certainly not as good as a hand job).
Last price I paid was $35 and $12 for a RainEx application, I think. Coach, was really muddy from a poorly maintained KOA so the Blue Beacon boys were badly needed. In about 20 minutes, they did exactly what I hoped they would.

PS. No need to disconnect the Toad.

We ask Blue Beacon to wash and RainX the toad at the same time. Adds $8 or $10 to the bill, and well worth it.

Do you unhook the toad if you are not having it washed when getting the RV washed?
Thank you

I don't but they have always given me a quick spray wash on the toad for nothing. If your toad is prestine I would unhook.
It's a quick action. I unhook before service at Speedco.

Supposed to be? Jeeps get upset when you disturb the value-adding layer of patina!

Agree. I once had my jeep detailed after the desert season. I am sure it was very embarrassed. The other jeeps laughed at it until it regained its 'layer of patina'. (-:
