RV Washing & Detailing

My rv is about 14 yrs. old, and i was wondering if the is a way to polish (wax) the painted stripes on the rv ? May sound silly, but i wash it, but wasn't sure if i could do anything about the kinda faded stripe areas. I see a lot of rv's end up like this, was it because of no clear coat from the beginning ? Thanks

Search Zep. It's a Home Depot commercial floor polish. There are multiple threads on how to clean/prep with Bar Keeper's Friend and apply the Zep. I'm doing it right now on my MH. The last time it was Zepped was 4 years ago and still looked acceptable.

I Think it depends if they are painted or vinyl that would make the difference on what too use. It will also matter how much effort you want to put into it. I sanded mine on the front end and repainted and then shot it with Clear. All by spray can.

If the stripes are painted as you stated, why not just clean and polish as you would do to the rest of the exterior paint? Are you sure the stripes are painted, and not decals?

OK I get what to do if they are painted.

What bout if they are vinyl decals? I read about one gentleman that sanded lightly, taped up, then spray painted; but I don't think that I could find any spray paint that would match our stripes. The stripes on our are particular colors to match the MH and I haven't found any spray paint to match.

Any help here?

I bought mine at a big box store the paint row was quite long.100's of different colors. You could also contact the Manufacture with the Colors. Our paint codes are on the door under the kitchen sink. They also have paint sample sheets for spray cans stop and pick one up and take it home.
Ours are paint not Vinyl. Have you consider removing the Vinyl and have them painted on and then clear coat.Let us know how they turn out,

Tim.
