We try to stay in contact through our phones and I always keep her in sight. If she forgets and goes out of my site I just stop and wait. Very sad.

Exactly. No visual. No move.

I tell her if she can’t see my mirrors, I can’t see her. I also stop when I can’t see her.

When I'm backing up and using the DW as a spotter she know that she has to see me in the side view mirrors at all times. If she can't see me, I can't see her. If I lose sight of her while backing up I hit the brakes and won't move til she is visible again.

That is a sad story

I don't need my wife's help backing up and she is never a part of the backing process. My toy hauler has a backup camera and that's all I need.

Sure would like to see the results of the investigation to see how the accident occurred.

Exactly... I pull doubles at work, and once in a while someone will help me hook up my dolly,(the thing that connects the two trailers) but that means they are between the trailers.. NO amount of communication is ok except seeing them in my mirror saying its ok and they are safe and out of the way... VERY sorry for those involved.... Be careful out there !!!! If in doubt,, get out and look !!! (GOAL)

So sad and probably so avoidable.
I too do not move the coach if I cannot see my wife. Such a simple rule to follow :(

Since 1967, I have NOT trusted ANYONE to help me backup. I use mirrors and markers, and I back up a little bit, get out and look (several times if necessary).

That had to be a pretty low speed accident. You wonder how this could happen.
