Sanitize water system

Newbie, recent motorhome purchase. The coach is currently winterized. I want to get the coach out to a couple local campgrounds to get some experience before it gets too cold. Would be going somewhere with full hookups. So would be hooked to city water. I know I need to flush the pink stuff from the water lines. Do I need to do a fresh water sanitization, since I won't be using the fresh water tank.

No........
Just hook up 'city water' and use it

Do Not put any water in fresh water tank

Check valving on water heater..if winterized it should have been bypassed so will need to Close Bypass Valve and OPEN Cold Inlet Valve (and Hot out if it has one)

Fill water heater before turning electric or propane heat on.
Flush lines hot/cold thru faucets--showers and toilet

Then you will need to 'winterize' it again when done using
Bypassing water heater/close cold in--hot out
Drain water heater
Open RV Low point drains hot/cold
Then pump anti freeze thru plumbing system ...close low point/open faucets/shower hot-cold and flush toilet until pink flows

Sanitizing annually is a good practice, but it is no necessary to sanitize simply because it is winterized. You can just flush out the pink stuff (it is potable). If you have sewer at the site, so you even do it at the campground.

If the tank has the pink stuff, I would drain, fill and flush that as well, just in case you need to use some water from the tank.

A side note, do not put RV antifreeze into the fresh water tank, it is totally unnecessary. If by chance some is in the tank, flush with clear water, then add 1C baking soda to a full tank, agitate and allow to sit overnight, drain tank and it's ready to use again; this time without any aftertaste or odor.
