Scam Buyer Warning
I suppose this is common knowledge but new to me as this is the first time I'm selling a motorhome. I posted a for sale post in the classifieds here and got a reply the next day from someone interested. After a few e-mail exchanges, my Spidey sense went off.
If you have a rig for sale here or anywhere else, beware of buyers who are out to sea or on an offshore oil rig that are buying the rig as a surprise for their father and request a PayPal account be set up.

A very common scam involving a third party "agent" to pick up the RV.

Yup. I had a few of those. My common response was " get a life " and never heard from them again.

Yeah, I did a search of the forums after I posted this and found the exact situation with a scam warning. Good to know my Spidey sense is still working.
I hit one when we were buying as well. A 1995 Safari Sahara for $3300. I e-mailed back and asked if they left off a zero and got the PayPal pitch. The DW found the same Safari listed on another online RV site. The scammer just pilfered the pictures and put it on eBay.

Maybe the scammers email address should be posted and then everyone here send them emails with lots of photos attached. Slow them down some. Use a new gmail account and then close it.

Got the same email from a Roy Sway at swayroy@gmail.com wanting to buy my MH for full asking price with PayPal. Of coarse a third party company would pick it up because he was on an oil rig down under.

I got some guy from Missouri that just couldn't get up here but wanted to purchase it for full price and have someone pick it up. Of course PayPal. I told him the first man here with cash buys it. Last I heard from him.
