Had a similar experance; price to good to be true; seller said motorhome was in LA, I emailed him and said no problem, I had business in LA the next day and would stop by and have a look at the motor home, next email I got from him he corrected himself and said the motorhome was in new york, I emailed him back and told him no problem I had business in New York the next week, I"d drop by.
Never heard from him again.

Boy 'o Boy, is that the understatement of the day. For Jollies actually try to get a real person on the phone at PayPal. It isn't going to happen.

Why people waste their time (which in my opinion is just as valuable as money) on seemingly sketchy stuff like this is beyond me...if you have to question it, it's because you're choosing to ignore your better judgment imo.

Please don't call the police and tell them this seller is a scam artist so they'll go check it out! What if the guy's legit...now you've cause him a basketful of trouble!

Also, just because your Google Maps search didn't show an RV at the house, be aware that Google Maps Satellite images can have been taken several years ago. PLUS the map might not be showing the correct location for the address. When I enter *our* address into Google Maps, it gets to the correct block, but the house it has marked is not our house...ours is about 4 or 5 houses to the north!

I have heard of cases where a Vehicle, even a motor home, was sold for a fraction of what it was worth. AND IT WAS LEGIT.. There is a music piece called "The Urban Legend" (The sub title is the Fifty Dollar Corvette" I'm sure you have all heard it.

Never seen a deal quite that good... but I've heard of some that were legit and were not far from it.

However the best wisdom is "If it sounds too good to be true, It very likely is not true".

Insist on a physical address and then have either a mobile RV servie technician or someone you trust in the area pre-inspect it

It might just be a "low maintenance" Rig, that is the Prior owner did not do the needed maintenance and as a result the roof leaked and rotted out and the thing is full of mold and other "little surprises" making it worth a fraction of what is being asked.

Or it may well be "Vapor ware" (That is there is no motor home, they take your money and run like the devil himself is after them.. Which by the way, He is.)

Final Update, again, thank you all for your insight.

Personally, I didn't feel it was a waste of my time to check it out, as some have said, it could have been legit. Apparently it wasn't.

I asked for and was given an address by the "seller" because I said wanted to see it for myself. I then had a volunteer drive to that address and no one at that address, or next door, had ever heard of the person. So imho it was a scam and I've ceased all contact.

Thanks again to those who've been so helpful.
