Scorpions in the motorhome

I've lived in Miami since 1980 and never seen or heard of them being a problem. Being next to the Everglades, nothing surprises me though. When we arrived at the county campground last fall, which is located next to the zoo, the neighbor said he was having a problem with ants in their coach. Soon we had the same. One night a few weeks ago, I found a large black scorpion crawling in the basement. I read where they like to eat ants and my site is evidently next to an ant farm, where the root ball from a tree is still in the ground. Yesterday morning my wife was going in the shower and saw a small white scorpion scurry across the floor and go into the wall opening for the pocket door.

I asked the park manager if scorpions are in the area. He said they were and to be careful with the babies...their venom is the most painful. He told me that is why the park workers all wear long pants and boots. Only the foolish campers wear shorts and flip flops. The park does nothing for pest control.

I just ordered a black light flashlight on Amazon. I read that scorpions are transluscent and glow in the dark. Looks like I'll be spending many late nights searching for the pesky critters, both inside and outside the motorhome. Maybe a long afternoon underneath the coach with a caulk gun is the best solution. Kinda takes some of the glamour out of RVing, ya think? Maybe a sequel to "Snakes on a Plane?"

Sounds like it's time to nuke them. Click on this link. Demon spray and the Tempo dust are two very good products for scorpions. Also, glue trays can trap them. Good luck!

Have your undercarriage sprayed with Mouse Free, it stops ants and anything that crawls, they can't get traction due to the fact it's a slippery gel that also helps stop rusting and protects wiring connections and of course keeps mice out!

I would clear out of the RV for a few hours.. BUT.. before you go.

Obtain (From a vet) the high power bub bombs, how many is determined by the size of your RV.. And follow instructions as to protecting food and water from chemical contamination.. Set 'em off and go someplace for a few hours... Take in a movie, Take the Mrs. out to Dinner, Go to Church, Whatever.

Upon return open up and I mean UP, open door and lock it open, Open "Lid" (Fantastic fan or Maxx Air) open all windows and let it air out while you enjoy the great outdoors for like 30 minutes.

Scorpions should be gone when you go back in.

we have a similar problem with our house in the mountains of North Ga, we get a pesticide from a local pest control supply house. after we spray it the next AM there are dead ones everywhere. they are easy to kill there just seams to be a endless mount of them. the sting of the ones up there is a lot like a wasp.

This sounds awful, I use KONK (industrial Dairy) safe around pets and humans, deadly to the creepy crawlies ...(have no ides if scorpions are included, Home Hardware has it, 20.00 they do have lots of different products so maybe there is
something for THEM ... everything else will be dead so easy to find...

however, me being me, I would get the key in the ignition and go elsewhere, somewhere they hated bugs, spiders and scorpions more than me!!

Good luck, not a hunting trip I would want to take!!

I also use the Cy-kick and it does a great job. No only does it kill Scorpions, it gets rid of the small creatures that Scorpions like to eat

anybody have an idea how to prevent things like ants and scorpians from getting into the rig? given theres only a few points of access I was wondering if you could spray something on parts that hit the ground.......
